Changing the Tide Symposium
February 5, 2021 : 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
It is a bittersweet fact that the pandemic has highlighted how crucial CHWs are to public health. This year there is momentum in Rhode Island to make big strides to strengthen this workforce and provide Community Health Workers, their team members, and employers security that leads to more equitable and better social systems and health for our whole state.
Join this virtual symposium of CHW employers, insurers, policymakers, CHW advocates and Community Health Workers themselves to strategize sustainability for this invaluable workforce. We will hear about various CHW payment models from nationally renowned CHW financing expert, Carl Rush, MRP, as well as results from a recent statewide CHW survey.
Also, swap lessons and build on ideas with other symposium participants in breakout sessions to discuss how various aspects of payment models as applied in Rhode Island would affect CHW effectiveness, team-building, CHW supervision, and the like.
