Duties
-Data entry
-Billing insurance claims weekly
-Collaborating with doulas,, third party institutions and other team members to resolve billing inconsistencies and errors.
-Reconciling payment history, upcoming payment information or other financial data into billing software.
-Creating invoices and billing materials to be sent directly to doulas and/or their clients
-Communication with RIBWC members as well as insurance providers
-Offer technical assistance to doulas who are credentialing with Medicaid and Rhode Island commercial insurance plans
Requirements
-In-depth knowledge of doula work and local activism
-Understanding of HIPAA regulations for health care
-Experience with billing health insurance is a plus
-Strong communication, including writing, speaking and active listening
-Great customer service skills, including interpersonal conversation, patience and empathy
-Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills
-Basic math, bookkeeping and accounting skills
-Organization, time management and prioritization abilities
-Ability to be discreet and maintain the security of patient or customer information
-Effective computer skills to input to use EHR and billing management software in a timely and efficient manner
-Cannot be a board member for any local or national perinatal organization
-Must live in Rhode Island
Technical Requirements:
-Must have cell phone
-Must have access to wireless internet
Other information:
– 2 weeks per year of PTO beginning after 90 days of employment
