Position Summary: The Community Health Worker provides preventative, HIV/STI testing and care coordination for APRI clients. The staff also supports the development and implementation of the wellness initiatives for clients living with HIV/AIDS and administers Ryan White support services, including intakes and record keeping.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Complete Community Health Worker Certification within first year.
  • Training as a qualified professional test counselor (QPTC) is required. If not trained, willingness and commitment to be trained and conduct testing as part of overall job function.    
  • Experience with HIV/AIDS programs and services preferred.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender population, racial & ethnic minorities, and those impacted by HIV/AIDS and substance abuse.
  • Ability to travel to various locations as necessary.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft platforms and an Electronic Medical Record.
  • Ability to comply with client confidentiality while working in a hybrid environment.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required.
  • Bilingual skills are compensated!!
