We aim to provide a platform to honor the CHW profession\, provide professional development\, and foster policy approaches that improve community health service delivery. This professional development opportunity is aligned with the core competency domains required for RI Certification. \n\n\n\nWhat to Expect \n\n\n\nDuring this day-long conference\, you’ll connect with fellow CHWs and explore interactive workshops and networking activities with partners. CHW leaders will facilitate the conference using content based on nationally recognized best practices. The conference has been designed around four key pillars to address the most pressing needs CHWs are facing : \n\n\n\n1. Self-care: Practice self-care in the face of structural challenges \n\n\n\nIdentify steps needed for self-care amidst the challenges that we face as CHWs. Find peace and balance through community grounding and protective practices. Address trauma using effective resources and principles that you can apply to your role as a community health worker. \n\n\n\n2. The CHW Profession: Amplify the value of the CHW Role \n\n\n\nDevelop your confidence and storytelling skills to amplify the value of the community health worker role. Discover how to recognize and leverage existing community resources to strengthen your impact and effectiveness. \n\n\n\n3. Resources: Collaborate to realize community resources more fully \n\n\n\nExplore the practice of authentic collaboration to ensure consistent access to essential community resources. Map community assets and find champions to understand the wrap-around systems needed for comprehensive care. \n\n\n\n4. Policy: Connect to drive meaningful action within your community and beyond \n\n\n\nLet’s work together to connect the dots and gain a deeper understanding of policy roles from the individual level to legislation. Map opportunities to provide CHW input on issues that matter. \n\n\n\nThis Event is Free! \n\n\n\nWe want this conference to be accessible to all community health workers in Rhode Island. As such\, the event is entirely free for attendees.
