DESCRIPTION:Have you found yourself in the dark trying to provide resources to a legally blind person? \n\n\n\nRegister for CHWARI’s next networking gathering to get an overview of how vision impairments affect daily social and professional life\, and how CHWs can best help! \n\n\n\nPresenter Arlene Fernandez (she/hers)\, CCHW\, Bilingual Consumer Resource Specialist at RIPIN\, has been legally blind since birth. She will share her personal experience with having an IEP\, reading through braille\, and later\, navigating professional life with a vision impairment. She is excited to share how limited vision should not limit your life! \n\n\n\nExpect to learn about: \n\n\n\n\nEffective methods of orientation and mobility\n\n\n\nAccessibility apps for smartphone and computer\n\n\n\nEffective ways to provide assistance to people with visual impairments\n\n\n\n\nHer presentation will be followed by a Q & A and then 30 minutes of CHW Networking!
