SUMMARY:EMPOWER: Justice-Involved CHW Support Team Group
DESCRIPTION:Overview: This support group is designed specifically for community health workers (CHWs) with justice involvement experience\, providing a safe space to share challenges\, receive support\, and enhance skills. Meetings will occur twice a month and will focus on topics related to professional development\, self-care\, and navigating reentry into the workforce. \n\n\n\nThe Justice-Involved Community Health Worker Support Group curriculum aims to provide CHWs with justice involvement experience a supportive environment to enhance their skills\, build resilience\, and navigate the reentry process successfully. Through interactive sessions\, peer support\, and access to resources\, participants will gain valuable tools and insights to thrive in their professional roles and contribute positively to their communities’ health and well-being. \n\n\n\nMeetings will be focused on topics including:  \n\n\n\n\nSetting Goals\n\n\n\nNavigating Reentry Challenges\n\n\n\nBuilding resiliance and coping skills\n\n\n\nEffective communication and conflict resolution\n\n\n\nProfessional Development and Skill Enhancement\n\n\n\nAdvocacy and Community Engagement\n\n\n\nLegal Rights & Resources\n\n\n\nCelebrating Progress and Looking Ahead\n\n\n\n\nMeeting Frequency: Twice a month. DESCRIPTION:Overview: This support group is designed specifically for community health workers (CHWs) with justice involvement experience\, providing a safe space to share challenges\, receive support\, and enhance skills. Meetings will occur twice a month and will focus on topics related to professional development\, self-care\, and navigating reentry into the workforce. \n\n\n\nThe Justice-Involved Community Health Worker Support Group curriculum aims to provide CHWs with justice involvement experience a supportive environment to enhance their skills\, build resilience\, and navigate the reentry process successfully. Through interactive sessions\, peer support\, and access to resources\, participants will gain valuable tools and insights to thrive in their professional roles and contribute positively to their communities’ health and well-being. \n\n\n\nMeetings will be focused on topics including:  \n\n\n\n\nSetting Goals\n\n\n\nNavigating Reentry Challenges\n\n\n\nBuilding resiliance and coping skills\n\n\n\nEffective communication and conflict resolution\n\n\n\nProfessional Development and Skill Enhancement\n\n\n\nAdvocacy and Community Engagement\n\n\n\nLegal Rights & Resources\n\n\n\nCelebrating Progress and Looking Ahead\n\n\n\n\nMeeting Frequency: Twice a month. At Wheelhouse\, we work with clients directly and focus on providing health navigation and empowering individuals by teaching them tools to navigate their own care. We are approved to bill RI Medicaid for our services. We will discuss the benefits of this model\, and some of the hurdles that have come up.
