DESCRIPTION:APPLY TODAY!!!\n“Accelerated and Intensive Community Health Worker Core Competency Training”\nZoom online format\nAugust 6 – September 28\, 2020\noffered by the Institute for Education in Healthcare\, with special application requirements related to completion of RI Certifciation Board’s CHW Certification application. \nIf you are ready to apply for RICB CHW certification\, you may qualify for this special version of the Institute for Education in Healthcare’s CHW training. DESCRIPTION:Please join us virtually for\nAn Introduction to Transgender Health\nWednesday\, September 23\, 2020| 5:30-7:30 pm\nSee Full Agenda & Register \nProgram Description\nThis virtual educational activity will provide both physicians and medical professionals an introduction to the transgender community\, including how to provide culturally-sensitive care and use appropriate vocabulary to improve the patient-provider relationship and decrease healthcare disparities. Physicians and healthcare professionals will learn about the barriers members of the transgender community face when accessing healthcare\, as well as strategies to recognize and decrease barriers to care. \nTarget Audience:\nPhysicians\, Nurses\, Nurse Practitioners\, Psychologists\, Social Workers\, Medical Students\, Dental Professionals\, Residents & Fellows\, CCRI Allied and Rehab Health Students\, Faculty\, Alumni\, and Clinical Instructors. \nLearning Objectives:\n\n\n\n\nProvide culturally sensitive care in practice by using language that is respectful and avoiding terms that can be harmful or traumatic to transgender patients.\nProvide more sensitive care to transgender patients due to an increased understanding of barriers transgender patients face in healthcare.\n\nREGISTRATION FEE: $25.00\nFee includes continuing education credits & access to webinar & slides. \nCancellations/substitutions must be made in writing to CME@Brown.edu at least 2 business days prior to the event\, no later than September 21\, 2020. “No shows” are subject to the full conference fee.
