DESCRIPTION:Offered by the New England Public Health Training Center \n\n\n\nAs a CHW\, what can you do to support the oral health of the individuals you serve?  \n\n\n\nOral health is an essential part of overall health and wellbeing. Poor oral health has a negative impact on quality of life and is linked to chronic conditions\, including stroke\, heart and lung disease\, and diabetes. In addition\, poor oral health can be stigmatizing\, which negatively affects mental health and may contribute toward socioeconomic disparities. Community health workers are well poised to support oral health education and access to care in their roles. After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic\, the conference has returned to offer a full day of in-person education\, resources\, and shared best practices. This is the 6th Rhode Island Trans Health Conference dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of the transgender and gender diverse (TGD) community. The conference will provide interactive\, evidenced-based learning for medical and behavioral health professionals across the care continuum to increase comfortability and confidence in providing quality care for all TGD individuals. In addition to didactic presentations\, attendees will have opportunities to learn from practitioners with lived experience and expertise in TGD health and wellness. DESCRIPTION:Learn How to Apply for Certification! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBegin preparing your application\, including portfolio\, for submission to the RI Certification Board. \n\n\n\nMay 24\, 6pm-7:30pmVirtual over Zoom \n\n\n\nIf you have already taken a Community Health Worker training and want guidance on applying for CHW certification in RI\, this workshop is for you! This free virtual workshop will give advice\, clarity and facts about preparing your portfolio. Please note: CHWARI does not provide the certification itself; that authority resides with the RI Certification Board. DESCRIPTION:Instructors: Quatia Osorio\, CPE \n\n\n\nThe COPE program uses a culturally-sensitive and trauma-informed curriculum that includes comprehensive perinatal workforce training: doula\, childbirth educator\, and lactation.
