SUMMARY:Behavioral Health Certificate Program
DESCRIPTION:December 3rd – February 25th\, 2025Wednesdays\, 6:00pm-9:00pm \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe overall goal of this 30-hour Behavioral Health Certificate Program is for front line staff to develop a useful awareness of behavioral health to inform their approach to their work responsibilities within healthcare settings. The online delivery of this training is supported by a combination of: \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nSelf-directed learning delivered online training videos and reflection activities.\n\n\n\nLive Learning sessions supported by weekly 3-hour Zoom sessions.\n\n\n\n\nParticipation in this online training requires internet access and the use of a computer or tablet that is equipped with a camera\, speakers\, and a microphone.   \n\n\n\nThe BH Training will run from December 3\, 2025 through February 25\, 2025 every Wednesday from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm over Zoom. ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED AT ALL ZOOM SESSIONS.Please be sure to fill out all parts of the application. The deadline to apply is November 21\, 2025 by midnight\, though the application may close earlier due to high demand. SUMMARY:Condensed Older Adults Training
DESCRIPTION:Three Saturdays: December 6th\, 13th & 20th9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Attendance is required at all sessions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCHWARI is excited to offer an intensive cohort of: “Building Holistic Partnerships with Older Adults: A Community Health Work\, Person-Centered & Social Determinants of Health Approach” \n\n\n\nThis FREE 26 hour training is funded by Rhode Island College’s Institute for Education in Healthcare and aligns with the Rhode Island Certification Board’s (RICB) educational requirements for this specialty CHW endorsement. The training is delivered by the Community Health Worker Association of RI\, part of the Institute for Education in Healthcare at Rhode Island College. \n\n\n\nThe Older Adults Training will include three live sessions delivered in English\, along with asynchronous content. The training will run from December 6\, 2025\, to December 20\, 2025. In-person classes will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on three Saturdays — December 6\, December 13\, and December 20. DESCRIPTION:DATES CHANGING!  Stand by! \n\n\n\nCourse Details: \n\n\n\nDates: TBD (Was Wednesdays\, January 7\, 2026 through March 25\, 2026) \n\n\n\nTime: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM \n\n\n\nLocation: Zoom (the final class on 3/25 may be hosted in person at RIC for a celebration and final presentations\, but this is TBD) \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nProgram Overview: \n\n\n\nDeveloped to teach best practices for achieving optimum health and wellness for people living with HIV/AIDS\, this certification program consists of 36 hours of classroom instruction (12 weeks)\, weekly homework assignments\, and creation of a final group project. We hope to offer similar trainings in the future! \n\n\n\nCHWARI-Sponsored Ethics Training 6/10!   \n\n\n\nOver the years CHWARI members have expressed that it is difficult to find the appropriate and affordable ethics training necessary to meet the RICB requirement for CHW recertification.  In response to that demand\, CHWARI is thrilled to be sponsoring our first Ethics training\, FREE for our members.   \n\n\n\n——————————————————- \n\n\n\nEthics in Action™: Transform. Empower. Lead.\n\n\n\nJune 10th | 5:00 PM – 8:00 PMIn-person at Rhode Island College \n\n\n\nEthics matter — and the impact of Community Health Workers matters even more. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEthics in Action™ is a transformational professional development experience created by RI Independent Community Health Works (RIICHW™) and facilitated by founder and CEO Koren Carbuccia. Designed specifically for Community Health Workers and frontline professionals\, this immersive in-person training strengthens ethical leadership\, communication\, professional boundaries\, advocacy\, and real-world decision-making skills essential to today’s evolving healthcare and community landscape. \n\n\n\n\nGrounded in trauma-informed practice\, cultural humility\, and healthcare-aligned workforce development\, participants will engage in dynamic Rhode Island-based case studies\, reflective discussion\, leadership exercises\, and practical strategies that can be immediately applied within both healthcare and community settings. \n\n\n\nThis is more than an ethics training — it is an opportunity to elevate the work\, strengthen leadership capacity\, and empower CHWs with the confidence\, tools\, and professional insight needed to create lasting impact in the communities they serve. \n\n\n\nSpots are limited to 30 CHWs.
