SUMMARY:Condensed Older Adults Training
DESCRIPTION:Three Saturdays: December 6th\, 13th & 20th9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Attendance is required at all sessions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCHWARI is excited to offer an intensive cohort of: “Building Holistic Partnerships with Older Adults: A Community Health Work\, Person-Centered & Social Determinants of Health Approach” \n\n\n\nThis FREE 26 hour training is funded by Rhode Island College’s Institute for Education in Healthcare and aligns with the Rhode Island Certification Board’s (RICB) educational requirements for this specialty CHW endorsement. The training is delivered by the Community Health Worker Association of RI\, part of the Institute for Education in Healthcare at Rhode Island College. \n\n\n\nThe Older Adults Training will include three live sessions delivered in English\, along with asynchronous content. The training will run from December 6\, 2025\, to December 20\, 2025. In-person classes will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on three Saturdays — December 6\, December 13\, and December 20. SUMMARY:HIV Targeted Case Management
DESCRIPTION:DATES CHANGING!  Stand by! \n\n\n\nCourse Details: \n\n\n\nDates: TBD (Was Wednesdays\, January 7\, 2026 through March 25\, 2026) \n\n\n\nTime: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM \n\n\n\nLocation: Zoom (the final class on 3/25 may be hosted in person at RIC for a celebration and final presentations\, but this is TBD) \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nProgram Overview: \n\n\n\nDeveloped to teach best practices for achieving optimum health and wellness for people living with HIV/AIDS\, this certification program consists of 36 hours of classroom instruction (12 weeks)\, weekly homework assignments\, and creation of a final group project. These hours would count towards the Rhode Island Certification Board’s education requirement for CHW certification and recertification. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCourse Modules: \n\n\n\n\nModule I: Overview of the HIV Certification Program\n\n\n\nModule IA: Case Management Definition\, Philosophy\, and Skillsets\n\n\n\nModule IB: HIV 101 – The Basics\n\n\n\nModule II: HIV Testing and Antiretroviral Therapy (ART)\n\n\n\nModule III: Building Awareness and Fundamental Engagement/Motivational Interviewing\n\n\n\nModule IV: Social Determinants of Health\n\n\n\nModule V: Cultural Responsiveness & Competence\n\n\n\nModule VI: Behavioral Health (Trauma-Informed Care\, Mental Health\, Domestic Violence\, and Grief & Loss) Part I\n\n\n\nModule VII: Behavioral Health (Trauma-Informed Care\, Mental Health\, Domestic Violence\, and Grief & Loss) Part II\n\n\n\nModule VIII: Putting it All Together: Resources and Documentation Part I\n\n\n\nModule IX: Putting it All Together: Resources and Documentation Part II\n\n\n\nModule X: Ethics\, Self-Care\, and Professional Development Plan\n\n\n\nModule XI: Group Projects\n\n\n\nModule XII: Group Projects & Evaluations\n\n\n\n\nParticipants will be emailed the Zoom link the week before training begins\, along with additional information to prepare for the course.
