Please join us as we discuss the diagnosis of autism\, how autism impacts people in different ways\, and the types of tools used to support autistic clients. \n\n\n\nThis training is designed to inform participants of the neurodevelopmental characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Topics include\, but are not limited to: Executive Functioning\, Context Blindness\, Theory of Mind\, Central Coherence\, Joint Attention\, and One-Channel Processing. An understanding of these characteristics and challenges arms participants with the knowledge required to support individuals with ASD in their daily lives (in the classroom\, in the home\, or in the community).  This presentation ends with a discussion of the methods used to support individuals with ASD. DESCRIPTION:July 8th- August 19th\n\n\n\nFriday 9:30-11:30am & Mondays 6pm-8pm\n\n\n\n\nApply Here!\n\n\n\n\nPara ver en Español\, desplácese hacia abajo \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe FREE Community Health Worker Core Competency Training is intended to prepare participants for entry-level CHW positions in community-based social service\, healthcare and behavioral health settings. Its 12 modules are each aligned with a set of competencies defined by the Rhode Island Certification Board. Each module includes 2 hours of live zoom training plus 4 hours of training activities\, for a total of 72 training hours\, fulfilling the 70-hour requirement for RI CHW certification. \n\n\n\nSee the Core Competencies of a Community Health Worker here. \n\n\n\nLearn about getting your Community Health Worker Certification here. \n\n\n\nThis “accelerated” training is comprised of two live Zoom classes per week and accompanying assignments per class (about 4 hours of homework in addition to the 4 hours of live Zoom class per week). Its 12 modules are each aligned with a set of competencies defined by the Rhode Island Certification Board. Each module includes 2 hours of live zoom training plus 4 hours of training activities\, for a total of 72 training hours\, fulfilling the 70-hour requirement for RI CHW certification. \n\n\n\nSee the Core Competencies of a Community Health Worker here. \n\n\n\nLearn about getting your Community Health Worker Certification here. \n\n\n\nThis “accelerated” training is comprised of two live Zoom classes per week and accompanying assignments per class (about 4 hours of homework in addition to the 4 hours of live Zoom class per week). This means trainees must have plenty of time to attend to the course\, either due to employer allowed time at work or an evening schedule with plenty of room in it. Training will be held virtually on the Zoom platform on Friday mornings from 9:30am-11:30am (ET) and Monday evenings 6:00pm-8:00pm (ET).
