Position Overview
The Project Manager at the Children and Youth Cabinet (CYC) is responsible for high quality implementation and project management of CYC projects and programs. The Project Manager will focus on the implementation of Strong African American Families. The Project Manager’s role will include oversight of evidence based program implementation, coordination of partners, facilitation, delivery of outcomes and problem solving.
Essential Job Functions
Implementation:
- -Demonstrate expertise and leadership in evidence-based programs, strategies, and frameworks being implemented across the umbrella of funded projects of CYCRI.
- -Consult regularly with the Deputy Director regarding implementation innovation, science, priorities, and strategy for the organization.
- -Ensure adequate training takes place for partners and providers of programs. -Participate in training as appropriate.
- -Convene, facilitate and support implementation teams for evidence based programs and strategies. Support for implementation teams will include building agendas, developing tools for the team, engaging attendees, leading problem-solving and developing action plans.
- -Support programmatic providers and partners in recruitment for programs as needed
Continuous quality improvement:
- -Set goals, indicators for projects that answer the questions; ‘how much, how well, difference made?’
- -Ensure fidelity monitoring is in place for each program or strategy. Continuously review fidelity metrics.
- -Oversee programmatic data collection and curation. Ensure timely data entry and continuous review and quality improvement
- -Collaborate and support evaluation efforts when appropriate including process evaluations
Project management:
- -Manage each project to its grant-funded deliverables and outcomes
- -Report progress and results of projects as needed to funders, constituents, CYC leadership
- -Manage any project subcontract’s performance
- -Create and utilize tools to improve project performance and management
- -Assist with calendaring, scheduling and project planning to ensure deliverables are met in a timely way
Communication and collaboration:
- -Build relationships and continuously communicate with public system leadership and key personnell.
- -Engage, collaborate and communicate with multiple community based partners and subcontractors including programmatic providers
- -Promote and communicate project based work and successes internally and externally
- -Maintain connection and participation in networks associated with the project
- -Participate and support CYC events and meetings
Qualifications:
- -Demonstrated track record of delivery of outcomes and targets
- -Demonstrated track record of interpersonal skills, internally and externally
- -Demonstrated project management acumen
- -Demonstrated self-driven qualities, leadership, problem solving, and creativity
- -Experience in facilitation;
- -Excellent project management abilities, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience;
- -Background working in urban settings;
- -Ability to communicate effectively in multiple settings including verbally, and for written publication;
- -Demonstrated ability to lead for results.
