diabetes Alert Day

March 24, 2026 : 8:00 am 5:00 pm

Get Ready for Diabetes Alert Day®

Diabetes Alert Day® is a one-day “wake-up call”, observed by the American Diabetes Association on the fourth Tuesday in March, focuses on the seriousness of diabetes and the importance of understanding your risk.  This year it’s observed on March 24, 2026.

Prediabetes leads to type 2 diabetes, putting you at risk for serious health complications including blindness, kidney failure, heart disease, stroke and loss of toes, feet, or legs. If you’re among the 1 in 3 Rhode Island adults with prediabetes, Ready for Health, and evidence-based lifestyle change diabetes prevention program, can help. Ready for Health is offered by community and health agencies through the Rhode Island Department of Health.

Here are some ways your agency can help to support this important public health program:

Include Alert Day on your website and/or post about it on your social media.
