Help celebrate and strengthen the Community Health Worker workforce on December 10th at the 2026 RI Community Health Worker Conference & Awards Breakfast, held at Rhode Island College. This annual event celebrates the vital role Community Health Workers (CHW) play in advancing health equity, improving community well-being, and strengthening connections between individuals, families, and the services they need. Attendees will engage in meaningful learning, networking, and collaboration while recognizing the leadership and impact of CHWs and allies across the state.

Awards Breakfast
Attend the Awards Breakfast to celebrate and be touched by the stories of key players in the CHW community.
- Gather over breakfast to recognize the accomplishments of CHWs and their allies who make a difference with and for communities.
- Learn about sustainability challenges and opportunities for the field through a presentation by the Alliance for CHW Employers’ research on Medicaid data and policy.
- Network with policy makers, community health workers, employers, advocates, healthcare providers, and community-based organizations as we explore how our connections can continue to make a positive impact in Rhode Island and beyond.
The Awards Breakfast portion of the conference is a fundraising event that directly supports the Professional Development Afternoon. Ally tickets are available for $75, with discounted $25 tickets available to CHWs.
Employers are encouraged to invest in their CHW workforce by covering the cost of CHW tickets whenever possible, helping to ensure broad participation in this important event. The event organizers have co-authored this letter for CHWs to give their employers requesting sponsorship to attend. ‘Community’ Awards Breakfast tickets are available for CHWs who do not have employer sponsorship. Professional Development Afternoon
Stay after the Awards Breakfast, or arrive just in time, for two fun and interactive sessions of professional development, appropriate for both CHWs and allies, organized by CHW Voices and the CHW Latinx Group. Expect workshops led by expert CHWs and their partners, targeted to the current challenges facing Rhode Island’s CHW community.
- There is no charge for the Professional Development Afternoon, and lunch will be provided between sessions.
- Workshop hours will count towards the Rhode Island Certification Board’s education requirement for CHW certification and recertification.
- Topics and registrations for individual sessions will be available in November.
