Advocating at the General Assembly Through Human-Centered Storytelling

Our Rhode Island-based community health worker colleagues are invited to join MLPB for Advocating at the General Assembly Through Human-Centered Storytelling on April 20th from 10:00AM-11:30AM. This training will provide an overview of the state and federal legislative process. It will discuss how to use storytelling in a manner that respects the subject and advances meaningful legislation. During this training, you will learn to:

• Recognize that there is privilege and power in bearing witness to the experience of others.
• Identify ways in which local, state, and federal government policy is driven by storytelling.
• Apply role-aligned problem-solving strategies to support tactical advocacy.
