This training is being offered by:
The Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals, The Substance Use and Mental Health Leadership Council of RI and The New England Addiction Technology Transfer Center
This course is designed to highlight and explore the needs of addiction service professionals working with culturally diverse individuals, organizations, and communities. Participants will be able to understand the role of behavioral health disparities, cultural competency, and health equity in clinical settings and will learn proven techniques and strategies for engagement. The training will include didactic as well as interactive exercises designed to engage participants and elicit their input.
Continuing Education Credits:
Social Worker CEUs: Determination of 6.0 National Association of Social Workers credits are pending.
Chemical Dependency Professionals CEUs: This training has been approved by the RI Certification Board for 6.0 continuing education credits (The RICB is an IC&RC affiliate).
Mental Health Counselors CEUs: Determination of 6.0 RI Mental Health Counselors Association are pending.
Certified Peer Recovery Specialist CEUs: This training has been approved by the RI Certification Board for 6.0 continuing education credits (The RICB is an IC & RC affiliate).
Please Note: A pre-test is required to be taken before the training. In order to receive a training certificate, each participant must complete a post-test, and training evaluation within ten (10) days of completing the training.
