The Substance Use and Mental Health Leadership Council of RI
This advanced training, designed for agency executives and program administrators, will explore complex ethical and risk-management challenges that arise in behavioral health organizations. This unique training will be provided by an attorney and ethics expert who have extensive experience consulting on ethics issues that can expose behavioral health organizations to legal risk. Attorney Robert Landau and Professor Frederic Reamer will discuss ethical dilemmas related to administrative and board decisions, employee conduct, and compliance with laws and regulations. They will focus especially on practical steps that agency executives and program administrators can take to manage complex ethical dilemmas, protect clients, and prevent litigation and ethics complaints. Case examples will be included.
Continuing Education Credits (3 out of the 6 hours will counts toward Ethics) is:
Social Worker CEUs: Determination of 6.0 National Association of Social Workers credits are pending.
Mental Health Counselors CEUs: Determination of 6.0 RI Mental Health Counselors Association are pending.
Chemical Dependency Professionals CEUs: This training has been approved by the RI Certification Board for 6.0 continuing education credits (The RICB is an IC&RC affiliate).

In order to receive a training certificate, each participant must complete a post-test, and training evaluation within ten (10) days of completing the training.
