Immigration & Benefits Eligibility

Our Rhode Island-based community health worker colleagues are invited to join MLPB for a training on Immigration & Benefits Eligibility on April 22nd from 10:00AM – 11:30AM. This training was offered in early 2023, and is being reprised on request from CHWs across the state. While much of the material will be similar, the training will cover changes that have occurred in the last year. By the end of this session, you will have learned to:

• Recognize the history of and recent changes to the public charge rule impacting immigrant and mixed-status households.
• Identify the food security, disability, and health insurance benefits landscape for immigrant and mixed-status households.
• Apply role-aligned benefits problem-solving strategies in partnership with immigrant and mixed-status households
