Intimate Partner Violence
April 30 – June 11, 2025

Wednesdays, 6pm-9pm
IN-PERSON AT RIC

The training covers a range of essential topics, including ethical considerations, the role of an advocate, understanding trauma, safety planning, and recognizing the dynamics of IPV. Participants will learn about the dynamics of interpersonal violence including domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking, as well as define and identify human trafficking including labor and sex trafficking. The training explores challenges faced by advocates, including the ability to recognize vicarious trauma and signs of burnout and to identify three things they can do for self-care.
 
This course meets in-person every Wednesday 6pm-9pm starting April 30 through June 11. In addition to the in-person classes, there is weekly asynchronous homework.
