A town hall-style conversation featuring:
- Warren Miller, Asst. Prof., Social Work – An Afro-Latino gay cisgender male whose research and practice focuses on exploring the lived experiences people of color related to HIV stigma.
- Kymberlee O’Brien, Asst. Prof., Psychology – A stress researcher/neuroscientist who studies the effects of social stressors like implicit biases and microaggressions.
- Pegah Rahmanian, Director, Unity Center – The child of Iranian immigrants, queer, Muslim who has spent the last 15 years in youth development and who provides identity specific programming, education, and resources at RIC’s Unity Center.
Student moderator: Ronya Traynham – A senior in youth development and Africana studies, whose passion is advocacy and social justice in education.
This important conversation promises to be a spirited discussion of professional and lived experiences, with an opportunity for attendees to ask questions of the panelists and moderators.
