The Olneyville Neighborhood Association (ONA) is seeking its first Executive Director to lead our dynamic organization. We’re looking for someone with strong leadership skills, proven fundraising experience, and a passion for community organizing to help ONA continue its journey of growth and empowerment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and plan community organizing efforts in line with ONA’s mission.
  • Work with the Board and staff to develop strategies that support ONA’s long-term growth and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with the Board to create and implement fundraising, marketing, and communications plans.
  • Manage grants and funding, including researching opportunities, preparing proposals, and ensuring reports are completed on time.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget with Board oversight, and ensure the organization operates within it.
  • Build and maintain relationships with funders, donors, partners, and community leaders.
  • Representing  ONA in the community and with the media.
  • Oversee ONA’s programs and services, ensuring they are well-run, evaluated, and continually improved.
  • Supervise staff and volunteers, supporting their growth and contributions to ONA’s work.
  • Work with the Board and vendors to oversee day-to-day operations, including bookkeeping, HR, and facility.

Qualifications:

  • At least five years of nonprofit experience, including at least two years of supervisory experience
  • At least two years of community organizing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, communications, or other relevant field, or equivalent additional experience
  • Commitment to ONA’s mission and connection to the Olneyville neighborhood; residence in Ward 6 or 15 strongly preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish & English; K’iche’ a plus
  • Demonstrated history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results
  • Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community
  • Previous success in establishing relationships with individuals and organizations of influence including funders, partner agencies, and volunteers; comfort level in building relationships with the organization’s client base
  • Deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and consciousness of how the employee’s own culture, race, and identity are located in and may impact this work
  • Understanding of nonprofit financial management and fiduciary and compliance responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google suites and donor CRM systems
  • Availability to attend and travel to meetings and events outside of normal business hours; limited overnight travel.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $55,000 – $65,000
  • PTO/Sick Days: 15 Days
  • Vacation Days: 15 Days after the probationary period
  • Federal Holidays: 11 Days

With over 25 years of service, the Olneyville Neighborhood Association (ONA) serves as a beacon for community empowerment, providing a dynamic platform for residents and allies to mobilize around social justice and equity issues. With a steadfast commitment to defending the rights of undocumented immigrants, ONA leads grassroots initiatives and advocacy campaigns aimed at fostering a more inclusive society. Through collaborative efforts, ONA amplifies the voices and aspirations of Olneyville residents and surrounding communities, striving to catalyze positive change and sustainable impact within the community.

ONA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization currently led by three dedicated part-time staff members, an active Board, and a network of volunteers. We are ready to move into the next chapter of growth with an Executive Director who will help strengthen our next phase of growth and community impact.
