ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Project Director is responsible for the day-to-day oversight, leadership, and management of the Providence 02905 Health Equity Zone (HEZ). Works in collaboration with the HEZ Community Engagement Coordinator to ensure progress toward initiative activities and goals. The Project Director will engage community support/membership for the HEZ collaborative and any work groups. The Project Director will be responsible for attending all meetings with the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) and other partners as relating to the HEZ initiative. The Project Director will ensure that all activities outlined in the HEZ Work and Evaluation Plans and Action Plan are implemented. The Project Director will be responsible for completing all required reports and will work in coordination with Quality Improvement Committee on outcome measurement and data collection systems.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the day to day operations, leadership and management of the Providence 02905 HEZ.
Engage community support and partner involvement in HEZ collaborative and initiatives in coordination with the HEZ Community Engagement Coordinator; recruit additional partners for the HEZ.
Provide meeting organization and facilitation for the initiative.
Ensure initiative activities align with goals, objectives, and strategies.
Collect and analyze project data and assessments; complete all reports.
Oversee the process for the collaboratives monitoring of legislation and ordinances for local implications.
Establish relationships and method of communication with city officials and other representatives so that the community voice will be represented in policy making.
Form a HEZ Quality Improvement Committee.
Evaluate outcome measurements in conjunction with the Quality Improvement Committee.
Attend all meetings relating to HEZ including meetings at RIDOH as representative for the Providence 02905 HEZ.
Produce timely and high-quality reports and correspondence as required by project.
Work with partners to identify and secure any additional funding needed to implement HEZ goals and activities initially and long-term.
Assist in identifying, writing and submitting grants applicable to the initiative.
Build and maintain positive, working relationships with funders, community organizations and all partners and act as a liaison.
Under the direction of the FSRI Vice President, facilitate and support the involvement of FSRI programs critical to achieving HEZ goals.
Coordinate with Finance Department to ensure timely submittal of invoices and supporting documentation.
Maintain accurate and accessible reports, files and statistics as required by the initiative.
Attend supervision as scheduled.
Perform additional responsibilities consistent with initiative needs and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors Degree, or relevant certification and/or 5 plus years of related experience required.
Community engagement, project management and supervision experience required; critical thinking skills, creativity and flexibility in meeting changing priorities and demands; attention to details; identifying and resolving obstacles to improvement/ goals.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Familiarity with the 02905 area and/or goals of the HEZ initiative.
Ability to provide culturally competent services.
Excellent verbal and written communication, organization and customer service skills required; experience building and maintaining relationships internally and externally with community partners.
Demonstrated ability to organize self and others.
Ability to work independently and to take initiative; to prioritize and to proceed logically.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires:

Travel within the community, to and from agency site locations, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators.
Ability to work a nontraditional work schedule to include some nights and weekends.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work in person and remotely.
Ability to manage various software platforms and databases.
