Job Summary:

The Providence Center Peer Recovery Specialist Anchor Recovery MORE provides Outreach Recovery Support with people in RI communities who are in need of recovery support. Peer Recovery Specialists provide individual and group support in multiple settings, and provide referrals for resources like detox, housing, outpatient treatment, clothing/food and overdose prevention/Narcan training. This staff member also provides educational outreach to providers and community groups.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide community outreach including, distributing harm reductions supplies, Narcan, transport to treatment, canvassing hot spots where overdoses are high.

Provide individual recovery support.

Facilitate recovery support groups.

Provide information and referrals for community based resources.

Serve as advocate for program participants and assist them to develop self-advocacy skills.

Complete all required documentation clearly and on time.

Communicate effectively and respectfully with all program participants and coworkers; and with community partners. Maintain positive relationships.

Complete all trainings as assigned.

Requirements:

High School diploma or GED required. Associates Degree or higher preferred.

RI State certified Recovery Coach or plan to complete this within first year.

Understanding of community resources and recovery oriented systems of care model.

Knowledge of basic crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, and some case management techniques required. Ability to act as an advocate for the needs of the parent is required.

Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of, and belief in, the SUD recovery process.

Minimum of 2 years established recovery time.

Job Summary:

The Providence Center Peer Support Specialist Anchor Recovery – Jim Gillen Teen Center works with young people who struggle with addiction by providing individual and group recovery coaching, and facilitating activities and events. This staff member is responsible to help maintain a positive community environment, in which youth and family members are able to develop recovery capital and learn about the recovery process. Position Summary: The Trauma Systems Therapy- Community Health Worker will conduct screenings and individual needs assessments in family homes and other community venues as appropriate. Responsible for engaging clients; implementing screening tools; identifying areas of need; developing action plans; ensuring referrals are made to appropriately matched services; and providing ongoing support and monitoring. Provide Enhanced Case Management (ECM) to assist the family/youth to access necessary services to improve the quality of life.  Advocates for youth and family in navigating the child welfare system.

Specific Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Provide Case Management to youth associated with the Enhanced Case Management Program (note: Case Manager may have a mix of cases between CHT and ECM cases which may be more or less depending on the needs of the program).
  • Assist youth in ECM program to achieve independent living skills and achieve their goals based on their service plan.
  • Participate with Trauma Systems Therapy- Community Health Team in conducting a full needs assessment utilizing RI DOH standardized tools.
  • Determine with caregivers a family plan that addresses current identified needs.
  • Link and refer individuals/ families to appropriate culturally relevant resources and informal supports within their community.
  • Provide coordinated care and monitoring through contact with individuals, families, medical entities, community providers and referral sources.
  • Build and maintain positive, working relationships with medical entities, community organizations and service providers.
  • Teach self-advocacy skills.
  • Complete all RI DOH and Family Service paperwork including evaluations and written documentation of all communications with families, physicians, referral sources, community partners, etc.
  • Complete all documentation in accordance with agency standards and within established guidelines and timeframes.
  • Participate in ongoing supervision with supervisor as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested by supervisor or director.

Qualifications:

  • Community Health Worker Certification required; Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Availability to work flexible schedule to meet the needs of families, including 2-3 late evenings weekly.
  • Ability to complete training and meet all requirements to be certified as a Community Health Worker within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Spanish bilingual preferred.

Position Summary:  The FCCP is a community-based child welfare prevention program. The FCCP assists families in identifying and addressing their immediate and long-term needs. The FCCP utilizes both a strength-based and wraparound approach, meaning a family’s needs are met by identifying and building upon their existing strengths and by identifying and utilizing their natural support. A key piece of the wraparound process is FSCC’s assisting families in breaking down their needs/goals into manageable steps and providing referrals to both local and state resources that can assist them in meeting these goals. The focus of the FCCP is to help families identify what they hope and dream for their future; we call this their family vision. We place a high value on family voice and choice and thus when developing a family’s goals, the family is empowered to lead the process. The FSCC assists families in identifying and building a Wraparound team composed of their family, friends, and providers. These supports are tasked with assisting and cheering the family on as they take steps toward the realization of their goals. The FSCC is responsible for facilitating regularly scheduled team meetings during which progress is celebrated, and barriers toward goal achievement are problem solved as a team. This dynamic position offers exciting opportunities to develop skills related to assessment writing and treatment planning, learn about local and state resources, and to become certified as a Wraparound FSCC. Position Summary

The GED Teacher for the Project LEARN Program provides high-quality, standards-based instruction to adult learners working toward their General Education Diploma (GED). Project LEARN offers free adult education services in a supportive and inclusive learning environment, helping students achieve their educational, career, and workplace goals.

This role delivers multi-level instruction aligned with Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Adult Education Standards and College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS), using best practices in adult education and learner-centered teaching. The GED Teacher collaborates with program staff to support student assessment, placement, goal setting, academic progress, and documentation. Instruction prepares students for the four official GED subject tests—Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies—administered at approved testing sites, while building the skills and confidence needed for postsecondary success and workforce readiness.

Responsibilities

1) Student Intake, Registration & Assessment

  • Participate in the student registration and intake process in collaboration with program staff.       
  • Administer appropriate CASAS assessments to determine academic functioning levels.       
  • Review assessment results and intake data to evaluate student needs and readiness.       
  • Consult with the instructional and program team to recommend appropriate class placement.       
  • Review intake materials for returning students to ensure continuity of services.

2) Instruction & Program Implementation

  •  Provide multi-level GED instruction aligned with RIDE Adult Education.       
  • Design and implement contextualized, learner-centered lessons that support academic and workplace readiness.       
  • Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, including whole-group instruction, small groups, paired learning, one-on-one support, dialogue, and role-playing.

  • Administer required pre-tests and post-tests in compliance with program and RIDE guidelines.

  • Maintain individual student portfolios containing academic work samples and evidence of learning.       
  • Maintain organized student folders with formative assessments, learner goals, testing documentation, and related records.

4) Data, Attendance & Team Collaboration    

  • Complete daily attendance records and submit attendance data to the Data Specialist biweekly.       
  • Communicate timely updates regarding new intakes, attendance, testing, employment outcomes, and documentation.       
  • Share student job placement or employment-related information with the Data Specialist as required.

Provide peer support to our homeless, housing-unstable, substance use, and recovery clients in our Safe Haven drop-in center. Peer Recovery Specialist Certification Required

Community Care Alliance is seeking a part time certified peer specialist to work as a member of our 24/7 mobile crisis team. The certified peer specialist will work with a team consisting of a clinician, RN, case manager and community mental health worker and assist individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis. This team responds to crises in the community and assists individuals with immediate access to an assessment and services. The role of the Peer Specialist is to interact with individuals seen and provide a bridge between providers and adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use issues.

The certified peer specialist should be an individual who has lived experience with substance abuse, a behavioral disorder or a mental health disorder who has made progress in their own recovery and has completed specialized training qualifying them to help others in their recovery. This individual should be comfortable honoring multiple pathways to recovery. The Peer Specialist will work as part of a team when providing crisis level of care. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work and communicate effectively and serve as a role model for peers, providing them with coping skills and connecting them to resources in the community. The ideal candidate will be readily able to engage in active supervision and be practice positive and healthy self-care.

Flexible schedule, days, may include evenings and some weekend coverage. 

Education/Skills: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Have successfully completed and passed a co- occurring Peer Specialist Training program endorsed by BHDDH and possess or be eligible for the IC/RC state certification.
  • Additionally, the candidate must have a recent work or volunteer history work experience for at least 12 months within the past 3 years.
  • An ideal candidate is someone who can honor a trauma-informed, client-centered care perspective and be accepting of diversity of perspectives and backgrounds.

Position Summary

Full-Time Case Manager with a Community Health Worker certification (CCHW) is a key support role focused on improving the wellbeing of transition-aged youth participating in Haus of Codec’s Housing Facility. This position combines traditional case management with a public health lens, helping clients navigate healthcare, housing, and social services while also promoting safe and healthy living conditions.

You’ll work closely with clients to set and achieve health and wellness goals, connect them to services, and build community through outreach and engagement. A major part of this role includes conducting direct outreach and being a familiar, trusted presence at community sites and events.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management & Client Support

  • Conduct intakes and develop individualized service plans
  • Assist clients with housing navigation, job search, education, and public benefits
  • Support access to primary care, behavioral health, and other community services
  • Document progress and maintain case files using internal systems
  • Participate in regular check-ins and care coordination meetings
  • Attend apartment viewings and provide logistical support when needed

Health & Community Advocacy

  • Promote awareness of how the physical and social environment impacts health
  • Help clients set and work toward personal health-related goals
  • Connect residents to resources through the Healthy Communities Office, Arts & Health initiatives, and Community Health Worker Association of RI (CHWARI)
  • Engage clients with activities that build community and resilience

Crisis Response & Client Advocacy

  • Provide timely support in crisis situations
  • Advocate for clients with service providers, landlords, and public agencies
  • Model trauma-informed and harm reduction approaches

Qualifications

Required

  • CHW Certification (CHWARI CORE) or enrollment in a CHW program
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (verbal and written)
  • Experience in case management, community outreach, healthcare, or social services
  • Passion for youth empowerment, especially within LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfort supporting individuals with mental health or substance use challenges
  • Competency using Google Workspace and general office tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on-site/in the field

Preferred

  • Experience living in or serving public housing communities
  • Bilingual in additional languages (e.g., Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole)
  • Valid driver’s license and access to transportation
